On Nov. 11, the Healdsburg American Legion Sotoyome Post 111 held a brief Veterans Day ceremony at Plaza Park.

The morning ceremony included a prayer from the post chaplain Tim Madura, who thanked veterans and their families for their service.

American Legion members also conducted a ceremonial gun salute for veterans and taps was played by Madura.

The legion then made their way to the Town of Windsor to conduct a ceremony at the Windsor Town Green.

The Healdsburg American Legion received its charter in 1921 and welcomes Healdsburg, Geyserville and Windsor veterans from all branches of the armed forces.
