Aug. 18, the first day of school, marked the return to full-time in-person learning for the Healdsburg Unified School District.

At Healdsburg Elementary School, Principal Jeff Franey greeted students and helped direct them to their classrooms.

Some parents walked their kids to school while others dropped them off, giving them a hug and taking a first day of school photo before departing.

Masked, with backpacks and lunches in tow, students were excited to line up and begin their first day of school back on campus.
