Families and zucchini lovers came out to the Healdsburg Farmers Market on Saturday, Aug. 14, for the Healdsburg Farmers Market Zucchini Festival, an annual event that’s been postponed the last few years due to fires and COVID-19.

The event featured a giant zucchini competition and a zucchini decoration contest, however, the highlight of the event was the zucchini car race.

Kids and adults decorate zucchinis and outfit them with wheels in order to race them down the Jerry Stewart track for prizes.

The race was emceed by longtime local Kip Miller.
