Elementary school students and those just beginning their school years in kindergarten and TK made their way across the Apple Blossom School in Sebastopol on Monday morning, Aug. 16 for their first day of school.

“We’ve been waiting for this moment for such a long time. We prepared really hard, and it was another dream come true welcoming the whole school full of kids back,” said principal Alan Vann Gardner.

He said he’s excited for the children to come together and discover a sense of belonging in community. As far as first days go, the principal said, “It’s the same perfect mix of mostly excitement, little bits of nervousness, some bits of tiredness and everyone happy to see classmates and start getting back to normal.”
